The 2025 Lembeh Strait Charm Festival (FPSL) concluded its five-day series of events in October 2025, including a special day to commemorate the anniversary of Bitung City, North Sulawesi Province. This annual event was a success in terms of organization and recorded a significant positive impact on the local economy.

PT Danusa Tambang Nusantara (DTN), a unit of PT Astra International subsidiary PT United Tractors, signed a conditional sale and purchase agreement to acquire 99.99 percent of shares owned by PT J Resources Nusantara (JRN), a subsidiary of PT J Resources Asia Pasifik, in PT Arafura Surya Alam (ASA).

Capital A (AirAsia) subsidiary Indonesia AirAsia has launched a direct flight route from Jakarta Special Capital Region (DKI) to Manado City, North Sulawesi Province. The new route is targeted to make it easier for tourists and businesspeople to explore Manado City, while also supporting tourism and economic growth in Eastern Indonesia. Acting Indonesia AirAsia President Director Achmad Sadikin Abdurachman stated that developing the domestic network in Indonesia is a key priority for Indonesia AirAsia.

Acting Bitung Container Terminal Head Muhammad Habibi stated that optimization of the Bitung Special Economic Zone (SEZ) is expected to boost export and import activities for leading commodities in North Sulawesi Province

Total realized investment in North Sulawesi Province reached Rp9.38 trillion in 2024 according to data published in North Sulawesi Province in Figures by Statistics Indonesia (BPS) North Sulawesi in 2025. Of that amount, realized domestic investments accounted for Rp5.78 trillion, or 82.04 percent of total investments, while realized foreign investments reached Rp1.68 trillion or 17.96 percent.

The mining sector dominates investments to North Sulawesi Province in 2024 according to a presentation by Bank Indonesia (BI) North Sulawesi Representative Office Head Andry Prasmuko, with foreign investments to the sector reaching Rp982 billion from a total of 19 projects last year while domestic investments reached Rp2.22 billion from 109 projects.
