Bitung Mayor Hengky Honandar, Bitung City Government Assistant III Benny Lontoh, and Bitung City Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service Agency (DPMPTSP) Head Pingkan Sondakh met with PT Innabridge Selaras Energi President Director Mutia Indaningsih and her staff at Tripel Sari Resto & Cafe on Mar. 25, 2025. The meeting was about Innabridge's plan to invest in Bitung City. Mutia stated that there is great potential in Bitung City.

The export value of commodities from North Sulawesi Province reached US$87.37 million in January 2025. Although declining by 9.87 percent month-to-month (mtm) from December 2024, the export value of said commodities also soared 49.22 percent year-on-year (yoy) from US$58.55 million in January 2024.

Investment and Downstream Deputy Minister/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Deputy Head Todotua Pasaribu stated that the Investment and Downstream Ministry has prepared several marine 'downstreaming' programs which are expected to create jobs for 9,500 workers.

Seaport activities in North Sulawesi Province experienced significant changes throughout December 2024. There were 958 ship visits operating in 12 main ports based on Statistics Indonesia (BPS) North Sulawesi data, with 97 percent of them being domestic shipping while 2.4 percent were international shipping. Although the number of vessels arriving was quite large, there was a decrease of 7.71 percent month-to-month (mtm) and a sharper 29.35 percent drop year-on-year (yoy).

PT J Resources Asia Pacific reported a new gold deposit it prospected in the North Sulawesi mining area operated by its subsidiary. The company informed that the new gold mine deposit has the potential to have a mill throughput of 1.3 million tons of ore per year.

Commodity exports from North Sulawesi Province experienced a very good performance on a monthly basis, with the export value of commodities from North Sulawesi surging by 49.78 percent to US$89.01 million from September to October 2024.

Kandouw received a visit from the Netherlands Business Support Office (NBSO) Chief Representative Mario Lauw at the North Sulawesi Governor's office in Manado City, North Sulawesi Province on Sep. 18, 2024. The NBSO is under both the Netherlands' Ministry of Economic Affairs and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
