PT Danusa Tambang Nusantara (DTN), a unit of PT Astra International subsidiary PT United Tractors, signed a conditional sale and purchase agreement to acquire 99.99 percent of shares owned by PT J Resources Nusantara (JRN), a subsidiary of PT J Resources Asia Pasifik, in PT Arafura Surya Alam (ASA).

United Tractors Investor Relations Head Ari Setiyawan stated that the rationale for this corporate action is to balance the company's portfolio, particularly focusing on expansion in the minerals sector which aligns with UNTR's diversification strategy.

"The ASA mine is not yet exploited. So, after the acquisition, we seek to build or redesign the infrastructure and plan to build the implementation process. Hopefully, we can produce gold and expand our portfolio in the gold business," said Ari at the United Tractors Group Journalists Workshop in Jakarta Special Capital Region (DKI) on Sep. 25, 2025.

He elaborated that PT ASA would operate the Doup Block gold mine starting starting from 2028. Production is expected to reach around 140,000-155,000 ounces per year. The acquisition is targeted for completion on Dec. 23, 2025, or at a later date mutually agreed upon by both parties.

United Tractors currently owns two gold mines. One is the Martabe Mine in South Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra Province, with an annual production capacity of 220,000-230,000 ounces per year. The other is the Sumbawa Jutaraya mine in Sumbawa Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province, is estimated to produce around 18,000 ounces this year. United Tractors will continue to push for production optimization so its mine in Sumbawa Regency could reach 35-40,000 ounces of gold production per year.
