South Bangka Regency Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTS) Head Kartikasari stated on Apr. 25, 2025, that South Bangka Regency  is set to have five crude palm oil (CPO)-producing factories in 2025. She explained that the five projects are still in the process of fulfilling the requirements for business permits, including basic prerequisites such as approval of space utilization and environmental approval.

Central Bangka Regent Algafry Rahman announced that two crude palm oil (CPO) factories will invest and operate in the Negeri Selawang Segantang area. The oil palm fresh fruit bunches (FFB) processing factory will be located in Perlang Village, Lubukbesar District, Central Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province and Puput Village, Simpangkatis District.

Mining holding state-owned enterprise (SOE) MIND ID subsidiary PT Timah Tbk. targets its annual production to reach 23,000 tons in 2025, up from 20,000 tons in 2024.

Bangka Belitung Islands Province Investment and One-Stop Integrated Licensing Office (DPMPTSP) revealed that realized investments to Bangka Belitung Islands reached Rp17 trillion in 2024. Bangka Belitung Islands DPMPTSP Head Darlan explained that the investment realization in 2024 reached 68 percent of the national target of Rp25 trillion and exceeded the province's own target of Rp3 trillion.

PT. Green Indonesia Alumina (GIA) will invest to build a smelter at the Suge Industrial Park in Belitung Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands Province within the near future. PT GIA will process bauxite into aluminium with the smelter. The bauxite is planned to be obtained from the island of Kalimantan, while coal to fuel the process will be procured from South Sumatra Province.

Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Bangka Belitung Islands Province recorded the value of Bangka Belitung Islands' tin and non-tin exports rising by 11.71 percent from US$180.19 million in September 2024 to US$201.28 million in October 2024.

He conveyed that sentiment when opening the audience meeting and presentation of PT GIA's investment plan in the meeting room of the Belitung Regent's Office on Nov. 29, 2024.
