Investments to Bangka Belitung Islands reached Rp17 trillion in 2024

Bangka Belitung Islands Province Investment and One-Stop Integrated Licensing Office (DPMPTSP) revealed that realized investments to Bangka Belitung Islands reached Rp17 trillion in 2024. Bangka Belitung Islands DPMPTSP Head Darlan explained that the investment realization in 2024 reached 68 percent of the national target of Rp25 trillion and exceeded the province's own target of Rp3 trillion.
"The investment was dominated by domestic investment with 91.9 percent, while foreign investment [made up] 8.9 percent," he divulged on Feb. 6, 2025.
Darlan said that the largest investment contributor to Bangka Belitung Islands last year was mining with Rp6.79 trillion, then electricity, gas, and water with Rp3.6 trillion, and at third place was basic metal industry, metal goods, non-machinery with Rp2.06 trillion.
"The highest foreign investment was from China at Rp2.04 billion, then Singapore, and then Japan at the lowest with Rp149 million," he elaborated.
Meanwhile, Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Bangka Belitung Islands noted that the province's economy rose 0.94 percent year-on-year (yoy) in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2024, down from 4 percent in Q4 2023. BPS Bangka Belitung Islands Head Toto H Silitonga said that the province's economy also grew 3.48 percent quarter-to-quarter (qtq) in Q4 2024, much improved compared to the 0.86 percent contraction in the third quarter (Q3) of 2023.
"So, the Bangka Belitung Islands Province's economy grew 0.77 percent cumulatively (c-to-c) in Q4 2024, slowing down compared to the 4.38 percent (c-to-c) in Q4 2023," said Toto.
