TIFA 2025 opens showcases art, culture, and MSMEs of Mimika

Timika Inside Festival of Art (TIFA) is being held in the courtyard of the Eme Neme Yauware Hall on May 22-24, 2025. This festival showcases various works of art and culture and support the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Mimika Regency, Central Papua Province.
This year's TIFA is the second edition, and it involves National Handicrafts Council Region (Dekranasda) Mimika, the local Family Welfare Movement (PKK) organizing team, as well as support from private sector players such as, among others, PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) and PT Petrosea Tbk.
TIFA Creative Art Creator Alfo Smith stated that TIFA has now entered the list of top 10 festivals in Indonesia, so it needs to be continuously developed and promoted widely.
"This year, TIFA will last for three days with 48 MSME exhibition booths," he added.
He added that TIFA 2025 aims to be a forum for business actors, artists, and creative communities to channel their talents and introduce their work to the wider community.
The festival's main event on on May 23-24, 2025, is a cultural performance titled Tabur TIFA featuring dozens of works of art from various regions.
"Praise God, this year we also have artists from Jayapura, Nabire, Deiyai, and even from Jakarta," he added.
The opening of the festival, which was marked by a mass Papuan dance performance, received a positive response from the Mimika Regency Government. In his remarks, Mimika Regent Johannes Rettob expressed his commitment to fully support TIFA.
"This activity is the first step for us to continue to promote and celebrate cultural works in Mimika," Rettob said.
"In the future, I assure you that there will be a special budget for TIFA, and we will [have it] collaborate with the Mimika [Regency] Anniversary commemoration," he added.
The festival was also attended by other important figures, including National Civil Service Agency Head Zudan Arif Fakrulloh, BKN Civil Servants Management Information Systems and Digitalization Head Suharmen, PTFI Community Health Development Manager Perwira, as well as members of the Mimika Regency Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) and heads of Mimika Regency government organizations.
