Total realized investment value to South Kalimantan Province reached Rp25.7 trillion by the third quarter (Q3) of 2025, up Rp 16 trillion quarter-to-quarter (qtq) according to South Kalimantan Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office data. The achievement stems from 11,238 projects based on Investment and Downstream Industry Ministry/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) data, placing South Kalimantan in 16th in terms of total realized investment value.

South Kalimantan DPMPTSP Head Endri stated that the mining sector, particularly coal, still dominates the regional investment structure. However, his office has begun strengthening promotion and facilitation in other sectors such as industry, trade, tourism, and services.

"Mining still dominates, but we don't want South Kalimantan to rely solely on coal. Through the Bekantan app, prospective investors can observe the potential in non-mining sectors, which we are continuing to promote," he added.

Endri explained that the provincial government is targeting investment value to reach Rp30 trillion by the end of 2025. To this end, various steps are being taken; from monitoring ongoing projects to active promotion at home and abroad. Furthermore, the South Kalimantan Provincial Government is preparing several strategic policies to attract investors, including streamlined permitting process and tax incentives for sectors deemed to have long-term potential.

"We want investment in South Kalimantan to be more diverse and sustainable. It shouldn't just grow from natural resources, but also from the creative industry, trade, and tourism sectors," he concluded.
