WINDONESIA March 14, 2025
The North Kalimantan Province Investment and One-Stop Integrated Permitting Office (DPMPTSP) revealed that realized investments to North Kalimantan reached Rp35 trillion in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2024. The amoung was obtained from various sectors. Companies that have invested in the province include paper companies in Tarakan City, Kayan hydro power plant (HPP), Kalimantan Industrial Park Indonesia, and oil palm plantations.
"These four sectors are still our mainstay in achieving [our] investment targets. We also still rely on investment from the 'lower-middle income' sector," said North Kalimantan DPMPTSP Governance Junior Expert Rahman Putrayani on Mar. 9, 2025.
Rahman stated that the North Kalimantan DPMPTSP will continue to focus on developing strategies to meet the province's investment target for 2025, adding that the North Kalimantan DPMPTSP has raised its own target.
"There is an increase in [North Kalimantan DPMPTSP's investment] target [for the province] from the US$35 trillion figure in 2024 by Rp2.7 trillion to Rp37 trillion for this year," Rahman explained.
"We will alter plans related to investment offers from the potential that we [North Kalimantan] have, and we are optimistic that we can reach the [investment] target again. In addition, there are also sectors, other than the ones I mentioned earlier, which we are still exploring and offering to investors," he concluded.
