Export value of North Sulawesi commodities reached US$87.37 million in January

The export value of commodities from North Sulawesi Province reached US$87.37 million in January 2025. Although declining by 9.87 percent month-to-month (mtm) from December 2024, the export value of said commodities also soared 49.22 percent year-on-year (yoy) from US$58.55 million in January 2024.
Statistics Indonesia (BPS) North Sulawesi Province Head Aidil Adha explained that North Sulawesi's export performance tended to fluctuate over the past year, with the range of monthly export value spanning from US$40 million up to US$100 millio.
"For the largest export commodities in January 2025, animal and vegetable fats and oils (HS Code 15) still dominated with a value reaching US$65.97 million or 75.51 percent of total export [value]," he divulged.
Aidil added that the Philippines was the export destination country with the most North Sulawesi commodities export value, reaching US$17.51 million or 20.05 percent of the total export value.
Meanwhile, the highest value for import commodities entering North Sulawesi was machinery, mechanical equipment, and their parts (HS 84), worth 1.10 million US dollars or 31.85 percent of total imports.
"China was the largest country of origin for imports in January 2025, reaching US$1.60 million or 46.5 percent of total imports," Aidil concluded.
