BPS: Papua's economy rose 4.21 percent yoy in Q3 2025

Statistics Indonesia (BPS) recorded the Papua Province economy growing by 4.21 percent year-on-year (yoy) in the third quarter (Q3) of 2025. BPS Papua Head Adiriana Helena Carolina stated in Jayapura Regency, Papua, on Nov. 5, 2025, that Papua's gross domestic product (GDP) reached Rp22.7 trillion based on current prices and Rp13.45 trillion based on the 2010 constant prices. In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the real estate sector with 8.26 percent.

"Meanwhile on the expenditure side, the export of goods and services component recorded 7.51 percent growth," she added.

Adriana said that Papua's economy also rose by 1.44 percent quarter-to-quarter (qtq).

"The corporate services sector was the sector with the highest growth (qtq) with 6.8 percent," she said.

Moreover, Adriana divulged that government expenditures in Central Papua surged by 17.11 percent yoy.

"Meanwhile, Papua's economy grew 3.89 percent cumulatively compared to the same period the previous year. The highest growth on the production side occurred in the government administration, defense, and mandatory social security sectors at 7.5 percent," she elaborated

Adriana noted that, on the expenditure side, the exports of of goods and services booked 4.15 percent yoy growth.

"Papua's economic structure in Q3 2025 was dominated by the construction sector with a contribution of 19 percent. Meanwhile, in terms of expenditure, the largest portion still comes from household consumption expenditure with 54.69 percent," she concluded.
