WINDONESIA June 16, 2025 (Bangka Belitung Islands Provincial Government)

The Bangka Belitung Islands Provincial Government is offering investment in downstream tin industry development to Chinese investors, in order to encourage economic growth and community welfare in the area.

"We fervently hope that investors from China will be interested in investing in this area," said Acting Bangka Belitung Islands Regional Secretary Ferry Afryanto after presenting several potential and planned investment locations to Chinese investors in Pangkalpinang City, Bangka Belitung Islands on Jun. 11, 2025.

He added that the province is rich natural resources beyond its historical wealth in tin deposits, but also through its natural beauty as an archipelagic region.

"Regarding tin management, we the government fervently hope that it could be managed into finished or downstream products, and we are ready to collaborate [to realize that aim]," Ferry said.

Ferry stated that investors must certainly pay attention to the environment, both on land and at sea, in managing tin processing. He also highlighted how tin ore contains other minerals.

"A tin ore contains many associated minerals, such as rare earths, monazite, xenotime, zircon, ilmenite and others," Ferry explained.

Meanwhile, Yu Jianguo through his translator explained that his company is engaged in the biology sector through the reclamation program that it has implemented in China. The company has also been involved in a power plant construction project.

Yu's party welcomes cooperation and collaboration with the government, both at the central and regional levels. The company will consider what would support the establishment of tin downstream industry development in Bangka Belitung Islands.
