WINDONESIA February 19, 2025
Roughly 1,000 Mandalika Princesses representing from 12 districts of Central Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province participated in a Siu Mandalika Princess Carnival parade, which took place at the Mandalika tourist destination area's Kuta Beach Park (KPB) on Feb. 17, 2025.
The Mandalika Princesses Parade was the main attraction of Pesona Bau Nyale Festival 2025, the peak of which took place on Feb. 18-19, 2025, at Seger Beach in Kuta Village, Pujut District, Central Lombok Regency.
The Mandalika Princess Parade is planned to not only be a part of the series of events for Pesona Bau Nyale Festival 2025, but also be one of the main attractions in the Mandalika area.
"Attractions are a requirement for tourist destinations, and the presence of the Mandalika Princesses Parade in the Mandalika area can answer that," explained Central Lombok Regency Regional Secretary Lalu Firman Wijaya to reporters in Kuta Village on Feb. 17, 2025.
The parade received widespread attention, with thousands of spectators from both Central Lombok Regency and outside it coming to the KBP area. Even foreign tourists did not want to miss the moment. In fact, several parade participants representing several were from foreign countries.
The parade started from the KBP area's west entrance at around 15.00 Central Indonesia Time (WITA), passing through a route in KPB that finished at the Mandalika Bazaar area. Along the parade route, the volume of spectators did not recede until the event ended at around 17.00 WITA.
On top of participating in the parade, the Mandalika Princesses representing the 12 Central Lombok Regency districts also took part in various local arts.
"In general, the event was run smoothly and successfully," said Firman.
However, Firman admitted that there are still many things that need to be improved in the future. He hoped the next Mandalika Princess Parade could be even more lively and festive, with the Central Lombok Regency Government aiming for the event to one day draw the same level of excitement as the Jember Fashion Carnaval.
"After this, we will try to evaluate and reconfigure the Mandalika Princesses Parade [based on] what is lacking and needs to be improved by inviting experts in the respective fields, so that the event could be [even] more festive in the future." he explained.
Firman said there are event experts in Central Lombok Regency who could certainly provide input, ideas, or concepts for future improvements of the Mandalika Princesses Parade.
