TTNM 2025 attracted more than 20,000 visitors

The annual Tong Tong Night Market (TTNM) cultural and culinary festival returned with great enthusiasm in July 24-27, 2025, at The Shalimar Boutique Hotel Malang's Tjerme Park in Malang City, East Java Province.
TTNM 2025 attracted more than 20,000 visitors over four days, cementing its position as one of Malang City's most anticipated cultural events.
Organized by The Shalimar Boutique Hotel Malang, TTNM 2025 featured 50 tenants, including micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), communities, and culinary businesses. They showcased the rich flavors and culture of the Indonesian archipelago.
TTNM was also included for the first time among the list of 110 cultural festivals in Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN), a flagship program of the Tourism Ministry.
The inauguration of TTNM 2025 was conducted by East Java Deputy Governor Emil Elestianto Dardak, and the event received praise for being selected as part of KEN 2025.
Also present at the festival's inauguration were The Shalimar Boutique Hotel Malang Managing Director Lily Jessica Tjokrosetio and Corporate General Manager Grace Syiariel. Both are key initiators of this eagerly-awaited annual event.
Borobudur Authority Agency President Director Agustin Peranginangin, representing the Tourism Ministry, also delivered his remarks at the opening of TTNM 2025, emphasizing the strategic value of this event.
"TTNM is [a] concrete evidence of cultural preservation and innovation as levers for boosting the tourism appeal of a region, particularly Malang City," he said on July 30, 2025.
Full support also came from East Java Provincial Culture and Tourism Office Head Evy Afianasari Malang Mayor Malang Wahyu Hidayat, who was present along with other members of the Malang City Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda).
TTNM also featured a variety of local cultural entertainment, including performances of the Malang Mask Dance, Wayang Beber, and a spectacular finale.
The closing night featured a stunning collaboration between Arca Tata Sawara and Reog Sardulo Djoko, as well as a performance by Semalam Suntuk featuring the Malang Fire Dance community.
TTNM 2025 Organizing Committee Head Kartika Chandra Hapsari, expressed her gratitude to all parties who contributed to the success of this event.
"We are grateful for the extraordinary support from all parties, both internally from the staff who have worked hard for six months, and externally from the media, sponsors, MSMEs, communities, and the government. This success is proof that collaboration is a way to preserve and protect cultural heritage, especially in Malang," she said.
Kartika also emphasized that The Shalimar Boutique Hotel Malang will remain committed to supporting cultural preservation through similar events.
"We want to continue presenting events that not only entertains, but also brings educational value and contributes to cultural preservation," she concluded.
