Central Sulawesi economi rose 9.08 percent in Q3 2024

Central Sulawesi Province's economic growth reached 9.08 percent (yoy) in the third quarter (Q3) of 2024. The main sectors driving said growth was exports and the manufacturing industry.

"Central Sulawesi's economic growth was supported by [its] net export share-to-growth of 5.13 percent. In terms of production, the manufacturing sector is the main driver of the Central Sulawesi economy," said Finance Ministry Treasury Directorate-General Central Sulawesi Regional Office Head Yuni Wibawa stated that the manufacturing industry Yuni Wibawa in a written release on Feb. 11, 2025.

The province's manufacturing sector is dominated by the processing of mining products, especially nickel which is the province's main export commodity. In addition, other manufacturing industries have also experienced growth along with increasing investment to the region.

With strong economic growth, Central Sulawesi now contributes 1.72 percent to the Indonesian economy and 23.8 percet to the economy of Sulawesi Island. The Central Sulawesi Provincial Government hopes that this positive trend will continue with the strengthening of the industrial and investment sectors in the future.
