BPS: Riau economy rose 3.52 percent yoy in Q4 2024

Riau's economy grew by 3.52 percent year-on-year (yoy) and 0.16 percent quarter-to-quarter (qtq) in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2024. Riau Province Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Head Asep Riyadi, said that the Riau Province's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in Q4 2024 was Rp289.25 trillion (ADHB) and IDR145.76 trillion (ADHK). This increased compared to the Riau Province's GRDP in Q4-2023 of IDR264.22 trillion (ADHB) and IDR140.81 trillion (ADHK).

"Riau's economy in Q4-2024 grew by 3.52 percent (y-on-y)," said Asep at the Official News Release of the Riau Province BPS on Wednesday (5/2/25).

Asep further explained, if viewed based on the Riau economy without Oil and Gas in Quarter IV-2024, it also grew positively by 3.90 percent y-on-y. This figure has increased by 0.22 percent when compared to Quarter III-2024.

"If earlier the Riau economy in Quarter IV-2024 grew by 3.52 percent, if separated from Oil and Gas it becomes higher, namely 3.90 percent. So the difference is approximately 0.38 percent. This means that Oil and Gas's development has contracted, so Riau's economy without Oil and Gas is higher," he said.

The GRDP without Oil and Gas of Riau Province in Quarter IV-2024 was IDR 247.69 trillion (ADHB) and IDR 128.92 trillion (ADHK). An increase compared to the GRDP of Riau Province in Quarter IV-2023 of IDR 220.32 trillion (ADHB) and IDR 124.08 trillion (ADHK). With these figures, Asep stated that Riau's economy in Quarter IV-2024 was ranked second outside Java and sixth nationally.
