All Trans Padang Corridors Now in Operation

Padang Acting Mayor Andree Algamar said that all Trans Padang public transportation service corridors are in operation with the activation of services for Corridor 2 on the City Center-Bungus Teluk Kabung route.

"With the operation of Trans Padang Corridor 2, it is hoped that the accessibility and comfort of public transportation could be improved further" he said after inaugurating the operation of 12 Trans Padang buses to serve Corridor 2 in Padang City on Sep. 12, 2024.

Andree said that with the operation of the six Trans Padang corridors, it is hoped that the public will be more motivated to use mass transportation.

"With all corridors operating, we want to provide convenience and comfort for the public in their daily activities," he said.

Trans Padang offers affordable fares at Rp3,500 for the general public and Rp1,500 for students, regardless of the distance traveled, to encourage more people to switch from private vehicles to public transportation.

Padang City Transportation Office Head Ances Kurniawan said that the service is expected to reduce traffic congestion and air pollution in Padang City, West Sumatra Province.

"We are sure that the presence of Trans Padang will provide a solution to transportation problems in Padang City," he said.

The Padang City Government plans to continue to improve the quality of services and add fleets to meet the needs of Padang's denizens.

The six Trans Padang service corridors are Corridor 1 City Center - Air Pacah, Corridor 2 City Center - Bungus Teluk Kabung, Corridor 3 City Center - Lubuk Begalung, Corridor 4 City Center - Jati, Corridor 5 City Center - Kuranji and Corridor 6 City Center - Indarung.
