Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita stated that the government will move import entry ports for several industrial commodities to eastern Indonesia. The three ports to be designated as such are Bitung Port in North Sulawesi Province, Kupang Port in East Nusa Tenggara Province, and Sorong Port in Southwest Papua Province.

The Virgin Mary Assumpta Nusantara Sea and Land Procession that took place on Aug. 14, 2024 is the main event of Golo Koe Maria Assumpta Nusantara Festival in Labuan Bajo Subdistrict, Komodo District, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. The procession was led by the Ruteng Bishop Monsignor (Mgr.) Siprianus Hormat and the Labuan Bajo Bishop-Elect Mgr. Maksimus Regus, and it was attended by thousands from the Ruteng Diocese as well as tourists.

The Labuan Bajo Flores Tourism Authority (BPOLBF), in collaboration with the Labuan Bajo Vicariate, has released the Catholic Pilgrimage Travel Pattern in Labuan Bajo. This travel pattern is a follow-up to the webinar on the Potential and Strategy for Developing Catholic Pilgrimage Tourism in Flores, held on May 17, 2024, and the focus group discussion on July 5, 2024. The aim is to position Flores Island as a premier Catholic pilgrimage destination in Indonesia.
