East Nusa Tenggara Governor Melki Laka Lena and East Sumba Deputy Regent Yonathan Hani signed a strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of East Nusa Tenggara and East Sumba Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, respectively, with Jakarta Special Capital Region (DKI) Governor Pramono Anung in a closed meeting held on Mar. 22, 2025.

East Nusa Tenggara Governor Emanuel Melkiades Laka Lena received a visit from Agus Saptono, Indonesian Consul General in Mumbai for the 2019–2023 period, Kuswadi Saibun, a local partner of Indian investor, and young East Nusa Tenggara entrepreneur Diki Ola at the East Nusa Tenggara Governor's Office on Mar. 5, 2025. The visit discussed investment opportunities in the province's salt industry by Indian company Dev Salt Pvt Ltd (DSPL).

Labuan Bajo Flores Tourism Authority (BPOLBF) Tourism Destination Director Konstant M. Nandus stated that the addition of international flights on the Singapore-Labuan Bajo route will lead to an increase in investment to Labuan Bajo Subdistrict, Komodo District, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province.

Guti Nale Festival, an annual event celebrating the tradition of catching nale or nyale sea worms, was held on Feb. 17-18, 2025, in Pasir Putih Village, Nagawutung District, Lembata Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province.

Amid slowing investment and exports, the economy of East Nusa Tenggara still continues to improve as its growth rate increased from 3.47 percent year-on-year (yoy) in 2023 to 3.73 percent yoy in 2024. Household consumption and government consumption are the main contributors to the improvement.

The government plans to build a salt production center in East Nusa Tenggara Province as part of its efforts to be able to stop industrial salt imports in 2027.
