The Ambon branch of the Finance Ministry's Customs and Excise Directorate-General successfully facilitated the export of 8.55 tons of nutmeg from Kamboti Rempah Maluku to the Netherlands on May 21, 2024.

Customs and Excise Ambon Internal Compliance and Communication Section Head Yusuf Nasution stated that the shipment was cleared for export to Europe after extensive testing.

The shipment, valued at €84,084.5, was loaded onto the Meratus Pariaman ship bound for Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya. From there, it was transferred to export containers heading to the Netherlands.

Yusuf highlighted that the successful export underscores the strong collaboration between the exporter, the Maluku Regional Government, including its Industry and Trade Office, the Ambon branch of the Animal, Fish, and Plants Quarantine Agency (BKHIT), as well as other relevant agencies.

"Customs and Excise Ambon remains committed to providing top-notch services to support the growth of exports from Maluku," Yusuf concluded.
