Realized investments in West Nusa Tenggara Province reached Rp36.9 trillion in the first half (H1) of 2024, exceeding the Rp25.4 trillion target set in the province's 2024 Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD). Acting West Nusa Tenggara Province Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP) Head Wahyu Hidayat revealed that the province also exceeded the Rp26.9 trillion investment target set by the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM).

"That means that investment value to West Nusa Tenggara in H1 2024 grew by 145 percent from the RPJMD, or by 137 percent from the target given by the central government," he added on Oct. 30, 2024.

Wahyu revealed that West Sumbawa Regency has the highest realized investment value in the province at Rp30.61 trillion, followed by Dompu Regency with Rp1.3 trillion and Mataram City with Rp1.1 trillion. Meanwhile, Bima City has the lowest realized investment value at Rp87 billion.

"When viewed from the sector side, realized investments are still dominated by mining," he explained.

Wahyu divulged that realized investment in the energy and mineral resources sector reached Rp23.8 trillion, followed by industry at Rp8.3 trillion, then tourism and the creative economy at Rp2.6 trillion. Other sectors such as marine affairs and fisheries, livestock, and agriculture still have low realized investment values.

He also informed that the total number of workers in West Nusa Tenggara reached 12,220 people, with foreign workers only accounting for 205 workers among them.

"They [foreign workers] are generally employed in line with Indonesia's applicable rules and regulations within sectors that require special skills," Wahyu concluded.
