Aceh Ramadhan Festival 2025 presents Islamic tourism

The Aceh Provincial Government is once again holding the Aceh Ramadhan Festival, which takes place on Mar. 12-17, 2025 at the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque in Banda Aceh City. The festival is part of Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN) 2025, the Tourism Ministry's national event calendar.
Aceh Province Culture and Tourism Office Head Almuniza Kamal, invited the people to participate in enlivening this festival as a forum to introduce Acehnese culture, which is steeped in Islamic values.
"Aceh Ramadan Festival 2025 is not just a celebration, but also a moment to showcase the uniqueness of Islamic Acehnese culture to domestic and foreign tourists. In addition, this festival is a driver of local economic growth through the tourism and creative economy as well as MSMEs (micro, small, and medium enterprise) sectors," said Almuniza, Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
The 7th Aceh Ramadhan Festival is part of the vision of Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf and Deputy Governor Fadhlullah, namely 'Realizing an Islamic, Advanced, Prosperous, and Sustainable Aceh.'" The festival is also in line with Aceh's priority development programs initiated by the gubernatorial pair, especially to the Tourism Destination Development Program, Cultural Value Development Program, and MSME Development and Fostering Program.
Various activities will be presented at the annual festival, ranging from MSME bazaars, Islamic competitions, to Islamic cultural exhibitions. This year, the festival will also feature Gampong Ramadhan "Bank Aceh in Action 2025" and the opening of Bank Indonesia (BI) "Road to FESyar".
Acting PT Bank Aceh Syariah President Director M. Hendra Supardi emphasized the commitment of Bank Aceh to support the development of MSMEs in Aceh.
“We want to provide an opportunity for fostered MSMEs to expand their market, especially in this blessed month of Ramadhan,” said Hendra.
A total of 50 MSME tenants fostered by Bank Aceh will present their various leading products at the event, ranging from typical Acehnese cuisine, Islamic fashion, to handicrafts. In addition, dozens of coffee trucks are ready to be presented by Bank Aceh to serve special Ramadan menus.
Visitors could also enjoy various attractive promotional offers through the Easy Transactions with Profitable Bonus (Peh Tambo) program at Bank Aceh's Gampong Ramadhan, including alms transactions race with BI's Quick Response Code Indonesia Standard (QRIS) Action Mobile at the mosque, alms receipt from all QRIS payment system providers race for mosque managers, QRIS merchant transaction race, and various attractive prizes for opening savings accounts.

Meanwhile, BI Aceh Province Representative Office Head Agus Chusaini gace his full support for Aceh Ramadhan Festival 2025 as part of efforts t strengthen Aceh's sharia economy and Muslim-friendly tourism.
"We hope Aceh Ramadhan Festival could improve Aceh's tourism sector and sharia-based creative economy. This festival is an event for MSMEs to introduce their leading products to a wider market," said Agus.
Moreover, BI will facilitate various other activities in the event. They include the National Calligraphy Competition & Exhibition as well as the copying of the Baiturrahman Mushaf, an Acehnese historical mushaf or copy of the Qur'an currently stored at Leiden University in the Netherlands. The mushaf will be handed over towards the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque's management to preserve Islamic heritage in Aceh.
"BI also encourages non-cash transactions through QRIS, activation of digital payment systems, and the Semarak Rupiah Ramadhan and Berkah Idul Fitri (SERAMBI) program to provide money exchange services for the community ahead of Idul Fitri," he said.
The festival, which is organized by collaboration between the Aceh Provincial Government, BI, and Bank Aceh, is expected to be an event that help preserve Islamic culture and provide a broad economic impact for the community.
"Let's enliven the 2025 Aceh Ramadhan Festival, enjoy the beauty of Islamic culture, support the local economy, as well as strengthen the values of sharia law in everyday life together through this collaboration," concluded Almuniza.
