64,000 visited IKN during Idul Fitri holidays

The Nusantara Capital City (IKN) has become a new attraction for tourists during the Idul Fitri 1446 Hijri holiday. Based on the latest data from the IKN Authority, more than 64,000 people visited IKN from Mar. 27 to Apr. 5, 2025. A significant spike in visits occurred after Idul Fitri.
"Statistically, there were 8,219 visitors on Apr. 1, 12,958 [visitors] on April 2, and the peak was on Apr. 3 with 14,105 [visitors]. Yesterday (Apr. 4, 2025) there were 10,215 people, today (Apr. 5, 2025) there are already 12,307 visitors," explained IKN Authority Development Control Deputy Thomas Umbu Pati Tena Bolodadi oj Apr. 5, 2025.
Thomas added that the IKN is open to the public at large so they can witness firsthand the progress of its infrastructure development. To that end, he appealed to the public to maintain order and cleanliness in the IKN, which is scheduled to be fully operational in 2028.
The public's enthusiasm to see the prospective capital city firsthand does not only come from denizens of Kalimantan, as visitors came from all over Indonesia, including Java and Sulawesi. There were also foreign tourists from Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, China, Europe, and South Korea to the IKN during the 2025 Eid holiday. Integrated services for the comfort of visitors to IKN is provided through cooperation of various parties, including the IKN Authority, the Indonesian Military (TNI), the Indonesian Police (POLRI), local community volunteers, and other related agencies.
To realize the IKN as a livable city, the main priority of development is accessibility. The Pulau Balang Bridge now operates as a functional route to IKN and as an iconic structure with the status of the second longest cable-stayed bridge in Indonesia. In addition, IKN Toll Road Sections 3A, 3B, and 5A are opened in one direction specifically for Class I vehicles as an alternative route for homecoming and access to the IKN.
The availability of supporting facilities is also increasingly complete. Health care has been made available through Hermina Hospital and Mayapada Hospital Nusantara. Accommodation options such as Swissôtel Nusantara and Hotel Qubika are also ready to accommodate tourists. Shopping and dining needs are also siught to be met with the presence of Indomaret, Coco Mart, Excelso, and 28 Finest in the IKN area.
Electric buses have been provided to facilitate mobility in IKN's Core Government District (KIPP). The public can also enjoy open spaces such as the Ceremonial Plaza, Amphitheater, Bukit Bendera, and Taman Kusuma Bangsa, while watching the IKN's ongoing construction from a safe distance.
