Indonesia Quarantine Agency Gorontalo (Gorontalo Quarantine) supports PT Trans Continent Hub Gorontalo's major investment plan in the field of cattle fattening and the construction of a Bonded Logistics Center (PLB) in Gorontalo Province.

Bank Indonesia (BI) is optimistic that the Gorontalo Province will experience positive economic growth in the first quarter (Q1) of 2025. The agricultural, construction, household consumption, and investment sectors as well as realized government spending are the mainstays of the province's economic growth.

The Gorontalo Province was recorded growing 4.13 percent in 2024. The sectors that contributed the most to this growth was wholesale and retail trade. Although it experienced a decline in growth rate compared to the previous year, Gorontalo's macroeconomic performance in 2024 still showed several positive achievements.

The Gorontalo Provincial Government collaborated with civil society organizations, industry players, and academics at the regular meeting of the Joint Fisheries Management Committee (KPBP) Gorontalo to encourage the growth of the tuna fisheries industry. This initiative aims to strengthen synergy between stakeholders in sustainable fisheries resource management.

The export value of Gorontalo Province dropped by 11.5 percent month-to-month (mtm) from about US$4.77 million in September 2024 to US$4.22 million in October 2024.

Four ambassadors from Middle East and North African (MENA) countries visited Gorontalo Province and were hosted by Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) member Rachmat Gobel and Acting Gorontalo Governor Rudy Salahuddin. The four ambassadors are Ahmed Abdulla Al Harmasi Al Hajeri from Bahrain, Ouadia Benabdellah from Morocco, Mohamed Alshanfari from Oman, and Sudqi Omoush from Jordan.

Wood pellet commodities are recorded as the largest contributor to Gorontalo Province's total foreign exchange (forex) revenue from exports in 2024. The processed wood products contributed Rp335.58 billion, or more than 60 percent of the Rp551.05 billion in total export forex revenue.

Wood pellet investment in Gorontalo is controversial among environmental activists, who are worried that the investment will bring disaster instead of welfare.
