The West Java Provincial Government is targeting investment realization in 2025 to reach Rp270 trillion. Several methods will be used to achieve this target. Head of the West Java Provincial Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP) Nining Yuliastiani said that this target cannot be separated from the investment realization record in 2024, which rose 19.2 percent year-on-year (yoy) to Rp251.1 trillion.

Nining revealed that there are at least six sectors that are the main focus in attracting investment, including the motor vehicle spare parts industry, the information and communication sector, construction and industrial areas, new and renewable energy (NRE), natural resources, and tourism.

"Many investors have chosen West Java for the automotive spare parts industry and data centers, which are still the main attraction for investors," she said.

The Rebana or Cirebon–Patimban–Kertajati metropolitan area, said Nining, still has extraordinary potential to be developed to become a promising area for investors.

"Investment realization in the Rebana area has increased threefold compared to before it was designated as a [metropolitan] area. For example, there are already five foreign companies who will invest in Subang [Regency] through the Subang Smartpolitan industrial area," she divulged.

Investments are also expected to enter Indramayu Regency and help meet West Java's investment target. The investments that have been implemented in Indramayu are in the textile and footwear sector.

"Sunbrite Taiwan in the textile and footwear sector is planned to start operating this year. In Majalengka, there is Cloth on Cloth, which will be established in the KIEM (Majalengka Industrial Economic Zone)," Nining said.

Amid large investments entering the province, Acting West Java Governor Bey Triadi Machmudin previously ordered that acts of thuggery by certain mass organizations to several industrial companies must be dealt with firmly because they could worsen the province's investment climate.

"There has been no update. There are [complaints] of individuals coming to industrial operations and causing disturbances. They (the entrepreneurs) are worried that [the acts of thuggery] will disrupt investments," said Bey at Gedung Sate in Bandung City, West Java on Feb. 11, 2025.

Bey asked law enforcement officers to take firm action against those individuals. However, he ensured that related regional apparatuses such as the West Java Manpower and Transmigration Office prioritize negotiation first.

"Negotiation or mediation first. If [the individuals] are indeed disruptive, legal action will [be taken]," he stated.
