Tulang Bawang won K-Fest 2025
WINDONESIA July 15, 2025
Tulang Bawang Regency's delegation won first place at the 2025 Krakatau Festival (K-Fest) held at the Indonesian Civil Servants Corps (KORPRI) Field in Bandar Lampung City, Lampung Province.
Tulang Bawang's victorious performance had "Tupping Pineng" as its theme, which was inspired by the mystical mask tradition of the Megou Pak people. Tupping Pineng is believed to be a guardian mask worn by the mekhanai or bride-to-be to ward off fear and anxiety before their wedding day.
The performance's cultural representation captivated the judges and audience with its powerful visual concept and rich philosophical meaning. It was produced by the Tulang Bawang Regency Tourism Office under the guidance of Herlina Wati Qudrotul, and presented by the Besapen Arts Studio alongside several local artists from the Tulang Bawang Arts Studio.
Separately, Tulang Bawang Regent K.R.A.T Qudrotul Ikhwan Karyonagoro and Deputy Regent Hankam Hasan expressed their appreciation for the hard work of the entire team that has brought honor to Tulang Bawang Regency in the provincial cultural scene. They both hope this success will fuel the spirit of cultural preservation and promote regional tourism on a broader scale.
K-Fest is an annual event in Lampung that showcases the cultural diversity of all regencies and cities in the province. This year, the festival took place in July 4–6, 2025, and featured dozens of regional delegations presenting their own distinctive cultural offerings.
With this victory, Tulang Bawang Regency showed its deeply rooted local cultural richness and established itself as a region actively preserving and promoting Lampung's cultural heritage.
