Lampung Governor Rahmat Mirzani Djausal and Deputy Governor Jihan Nurlela received a visit from the leadership of SUS Environment Co., Ltd in the Lampung Provincial Government Office Complex on Mar. 24, 2025.

In the meeting, Mirza welcomed SUS Environment's plan to invest in Lampung as an innovative solution in dealing with the province's waste problems, especially at the Tanjungsari Final Waste Disposal Site (TPA) in Natar District, South Lampung Regency and the Bakung TPA in West Teluk Betung District, Bandarlampung City.

"This is a concrete step in overcoming the waste challenge which is expected to have a positive impact on the environment, while [also] supporting the need for environmentally friendly energy," he stated.

SUS Environment is one of the largest provider of waste incineration equipment and technology in the world. The company is also included in the list of three largest investors and operators of waste-to-energy projects globally which focus on low-carbon and environmentally friendly industrial areas.

SUS Environment Indonesia Vice Representative Nagwa Kamal stated that the technology that SUS Environment offers will not only reduce the volume of waste entering the landfill, but also produce power that can be used for household and industrial needs.

Mirza emphasized that the waste problem is a shared responsibility between the provincial, regency, and city governments of Lampung. He encouraged all stakeholders to support the effort to solve the increasingly pressing issue.

"Collaboration between local governments and stakeholders who care about finding long-term solutions to this waste management problem is important," he concluded.
