Realized investments to Bekasi highest in West Java for 2024

Realized investment to Bekasi Regency, West Java Province reached Rp71.8 trillion in 2024, accounting for 28.6 percent of the total realized investment to West Java that itself exceeded the provincial government's Rp64 trillion target.
"We are still the highest [in West Java], above Karawang [Regency] and other regencies and cities in West Java. Bekasi Regency is still the favorite destination for investors," said Acting Bekasi Regent Dedy Supriyadi in Central Cikarang District, West Java on Feb. 8, 2025.
He added that the achievement proved investors' high trust for Bekasi Regency as a welcoming and profitable investment destination. That was also reflected in the upward trend for investments to the regency in the past five years from Rp37.32 trillion in 2020.
Dedy ensured that the provincial government continues to strive to maintain an increasingly welcoming investment climate, such as by ratifying regional regulations related to the provision of investment incentives and facilities by the provincial government and the local legislature by the end of 2024.
"The regulation aims to provide legal certainty as well as convenience for investors," he said.
Acting Bekasi Regency Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office Head Juanda Rahmat said that investment in 2024 was dominated by foreign investment, which contributed Rp50.62 trillion or 70.47 percent of the toal investments to Indonesia. Meanwhile, domestic investments contributed Rp21.21 trillion or 29.53 percent.
Singapore became the country that contributed the most investment to Bekasi Regency in 2024 with Rp13.34 trillion, followed by Japan with Rp12.46 trillion, the Netherlands with Rp4.63 trillion, and South Korea with Rp4.34 trillion.
Meanwhile, the business sector that contributed the most investment came from the 'other services' category worth Rp15.57 trillion. The metal, machinery, and electronics industry facilities is worth Rp9.9 trillion, the motor vehicle and transportation equipment industry is worth Rp7.79 trillion, while transportation, warehousing, and telecommunications sector contributed Rp6 trillion.
Bekasi Regency's having high realized investments improved employment in West Java, creating 63,148 jobs with 35,137 working in domestic investment companies and 28,011 in foreign investment companies.
