Rain Fails to Dampen Enthusiasm for Musik Alam Fest x Benuanta Fest 2024

Thousands of people poured into the Bunda Hayati City Forest area in Tanjung Selor District, Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan Province at the night of on Sep. 20, 2024

Although the event was delayed due to heavy rain, the audience's enthusiasm remained high to behold Musik Alam Fest X Benuanta Fest 2024, which combines modern music and North Kalimantan's characteristic traditional dances.

As soon as the stage opened, traditional music and dances from various regions in North Kalimantan immediately attracted attention, welcomed enthusiastically by visitors. The appearance of nationally-famed musician Fiersa Besari added to the excitement with his favorite songs.

The event presents both entertainment and the beauty of the province's local culture. The collaboration with Benuanta Fest creates a different offering from previous editions of Musik Alam Fest, with traditional music and dance combined in a harmony that enlivens the main stage.

North Kalimantan Governor Zainal Arifin Paliwang, who was unable to attend, expressed his appreciation for the event through a short video. He stated that the festival is important as a means of promoting tourism and empowering local potential.

"This year, Musik Alam Fest has entered its eighth edition, and it is one of 110 leading events [listed] in Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN) 2024. I am proud that this event not only promotes tourism, it also has economic, social, cultural, and environmental impacts on North Kalimantan," Zainal said.

Zainal also invited the entire North Kalimantan community to give their full support for the event.

"Let's show the world that North Kalimantan is a region rich in art, culture, and the hospitality of its people," he said.

Musik Alam Fest X Benuanta Fest 2024 is expected to be able to strengthen North Kalimantan's ability to attract tourists and increase awareness for the importance of preserving local culture.

Meanwhile, North Kalimantan Province Regional Secretary Suriansyah was present at the festival's opening ceremony in representation of the North Kalimantan Governor. In his speech, Suriansyah said that Benuanta Fest showed the beauty and charisma of local culture that must continue to be preserved.
