NSIC 2024 Aims to Improve North Sulawesi with Regional Investments
August 9, 2024The North Sulawesi Investment Challenge (NSIC) 2024 is targeted to increase the economic growth of North Sulawesi Province through investment in the region.
"It is hoped that the NSIC will become an information reference for investors to invest in North Sulawesi," Bank Indonesia (BI)'s North Sulawesi Province Representative Office (BI North Sulawesi) Head Andry Prasmuko stated in Manado City, North Sulawesi Province on July 18, 2024.
He said that 15 regencies and cities in North Sulawesi were required to participate in this NSIC. The top three are Tomohon City, Minahasa Regency, and Bolaang Mongondouw Regency.
Andry said NSIC's goal is for the identification of investment projects that are targeted to encourage job creation and improve the welfare of the people of North Sulawesi.
On that basis, he said that the North Sulawesi Province Regional Investment Relations Unit (RIRU) will once again hold a series of activities to encourage increased investment in the region through a project selection process through the NSIC, and the results will then be promoted to investors at the North Sulawesi Investment Forum (NSIF).
The North Sulawesi RIRU is the result of collaboration between BI North Sulawesi and the North Sulawesi Provincial Government, which was ratified through the North Sulawesi Governor Decree No. 145/2017. It is a center for information, promotion services, as well as investment opportunities for investors and exporters with the aim of attracting new 'clean and clear' projects that can increase North Sulawesi's investment potential.
The NSIC series of activities began with the capacity building phase, which resulted in the initial identification of RIRU representatives at both provincial and regency/city level for 'clean and clear' projects in their respective work areas.
The initial selection series for the North Sulawesi RIRU 'clean and clear' project was carried out on July 4-5, 2024, including administrative selection, substantive selection, and field visits to project sites.
NSIC 2024 culminates with the final selection on July 19, 2024. In this concluding phase, 'clean and clear' project nominees have the opportunity to present their projects to the NSIC assessment board.
