Lampung Province's recorded an impressive balance of trade (BoT) performance at the start of 2026. The region achieved a BoT surplus of US$411.47 million, or about Rp 6.45 trillion, throughout January 2026.

Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Lampung Junior Expert Statistician Muhammad Sabiel Adi Prakasa stated that this positive achievement was driven by exports, which reached US$500.14 million, or around Rp 7.85 trillion, during the period. Meanwhile, imports were recorded much lower at US$88.67 million, or about Rp1.39 trillion.

This export value increased by 4.73 percent year-on-year (yoy) compared to January 2025. The manufacturing sector is the main driver of exports in the province in January 2026, while the animal and vegetable fats and oils category contributed the largest share to regional foreign exchange reserves.

China and India remain the primary destinations for shipments of Lampung's leading commodities. A total of 84.74 percent of goods shipped from Lampung are processed through ports in the province. The Lampung Provincial Government hopes this surplus trend could be maintained to strengthen the region's economic structure sustainably.
