The printing and graphic industry in Indonesia has seen rapid growth in recent years, significantly contributing to national economic stability. The Industry Ministry reported that business actors' optimism for the next six months remains stable at 73.5 percent. Among the most optimistic subsectors is the printing industry. Momentum from the election at the beginning of 2024 led to a surge in orders for printing businesses, particularly for banners and brochures. This demand created new jobs and boosted the turnover of printing companies across the country, highlighting the significant potential of Indonesia's printing industry.

Krista Exhibitions will host the Surabaya Printing Expo (SPE) 2024, an international-scale event, from Jul. 11-14, 2024, at the Grand City Convex Hall in Surabaya, East Java. The exhibition will feature a wide array of printing machines, including printing presses/offset, digital printing, textile printing, screen printing, printing services, the latest printing tools and the most advanced printing technology in eastern Indonesia.

“This year's Surabaya Printing Expo has grown by 20 percent from the previous year in terms of the number of exhibitors and the printing technology presented. Now in its 17th year, the Surabaya Printing Expo is held in collaboration with various organizations, associations, experts and entrepreneurs in the printing sector at both the national and international levels involving 250 participating companies, including 10 MSMEs [micro, small and medium enterprises]. We are optimistic about attracting 15,000 visitors over the four days of the exhibition, comprising business actors in the printing industry. This exhibition is an excellent opportunity for graphic entrepreneurs to be more motivated to continue innovating and producing superior products with advanced technology machines and high competitiveness against foreign products,” Krista Exhibitions Chief Executive Officer Daud D. Salim stated at a press conference on Jul. 8, 2024.

Indonesian Printing Company Association (PPGI) Chairman Ahmad Mughira Nurhani said, “The demand for digital printing products will continue to grow across all areas of the economy. While many shifts pose challenges for conventional business products, they also present opportunities for those who can creatively utilize the latest technology developments. The graphic world continues to advance dynamically, and printing machines have followed the trend of digitalization. In this digital era, the need for high-quality printed goods with increasingly easy, fast and accurate processes is a choice that printing business actors must make. We hope that the Surabaya Printing Expo 2024 will enable national graphic entrepreneurs to update their machinery and facilities, helping them to become more advanced and to compete healthily amid improving economic conditions in Indonesia.”

The SPE 2024 will showcase the latest printing technology, from the small to large scale, including digital printing, screen printing, offset printing, garment printing, textile printing, cutting machines, finishing machines, 3D printing, labels and inks. The four-day exhibition will also feature various exciting events and seminars, such as workshops and seminars from the PPGI Association on themes like the MSME Packaging & Branding Workshop and Trends in Innovation and Design Business in the Printing Industry event, as well as a seminar from Media Print Pack Magazine titled AI & the Printing Business in Indonesia, Trends and Solutions.

The SPE 2024 is supported by various ministries, associations and institutions, including the Industry Ministry, the Trade Ministry, the Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry, the East Java provincial government and Surabaya city administration, the East Java provincial and Surabaya city offices, the East Java chapter of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), the PPGI, the Indonesian Printing Community (KOPI) and the Indonesian Exhibition Company Association (ASPERAPI).

The exhibition is open to business actors and the public from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.. Visitors can register online at register.kristaonline.com/visitor/surabayaprintingexpo or register directly at the exhibition venue.
