Kadin Papua calls for RI-PNG Border Trade Fair improvement

Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Papua said that the Pacific region is a site of future economic opportunity. Hence, the Kadin branch invites business actors to start working on said potential.
Kadin Papua Border Area Development Deputy Chair Jacleana Walintina Joku stated in Jayapura City, Papua Province that the government had paved the way in harnessing regional potential by holding the RI-PNG (Indonesia-Papua New Guinea) Border Trade Fair annually, which provides a good opportunity for business actors.
"The Skouw Cross-Border Post (PLBN) is a gateway for Papuan business actors to start doing business in the Pacific region," she said.
Jacleana added that Kadin Papua invited all local business actors to be more daring in doing business with Pacific region countries.
"This is a golden opportunity for Papuan entrepreneurs, therefore this step must be taken," she urged.
Jacleana reminded that the golden opportunity has not been taken by entrepreneurs outside Papua.
"Therefore, we hope that the RI-PNG Border Trade Fair can involve more business actors from neighboring countries and Papua itself in the future," she requested.
Meanwhile, Jayapura City Customs Office Head Adeltus Lolok said that his office supports export activities in Papua's border because they can support increased economic growth.
"One way to increase export and import activities is through the Border Trade Fair Rl-PNG so that we hope this activity can be even more massive so that there is potential for meetings between business actors from the two countries," he said.
