Gorontalo's exports fell as some went through other provinces

The export value of Gorontalo Province dropped by 11.5 percent month-to-month (mtm) from about US$4.77 million in September 2024 to US$4.22 million in October 2024.
"Some commodities originating from Gorontalo Province are exported through ports or airports in other provinces," Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Gorontalo Province Head Mukhamad Mukhanif explained on Dec. 2, 2024.
For example, the fish, shrimp, and crab commodity group (Harmonized System Code 03, or HS 03) was exported through Labuan Bajo Port in East Nusa Tenggara Province to Thailand and Malaysia for US$39,034. The postal packages, parcels and returned goods commodity group (HS 99) was exported through Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Jakarta to Taiwan and Vietnam for US$145.
The processed and preserved fruit as well as seed and nut commodity group (HS 08) worth about US$1.19 million combined was exported through Tanjung Perak Port. Their destinations include China for US$96,750, Australia for US$228,800, England for US$54,600, the Netherlands for US$114,400, Germany for US$380,400, Poland for US$111,800, Kazakhstan for US$56,000, and Russia for US$150,150.
