Gorontalo Regency Prepares to Host Penas KTNA 2026

WINDONESIA August 26, 2024 (Gorontalo Regency)

The Gorontalo Regency continues to make intensive preparations to host the National Week (Penas) for the Outstanding Farmers and Fishermen Groups (KTNA) in July 2026.

The information was conveyed by Gorontalo Regent Nelson Pomalingo to the KTNA central administrators of all regions of Indonesia during Penas KTNA 2024 at Jukung Resto Tanah Lot in Tabanan Regency, Bali Province.

Nelson said that the implementation of Penas KTNA in Gorontalo Regency will include all KTNA administrators and representatives of farmers and fishermen from all over Indonesia.

"It is estimated that the number of participants will reach 20,000-50,000 fishermen and farmers. We have started preparations since some time ago to ensure the success of this grand event," Nelson explained .

Gorontalo's readiness as a host involves the use of several locations, including Gorontalo City.

"We will use the [Gorontalo Regency Government's] Kasmat [Lahay] Building, Universitas Gorontalo's auditorium, the Institut Agama Islam Negeri (IAIN) Sultan Amai Gorontalo, and the Universitas Muhammadiyah Gorontalo (UMGO). Home stays and residents' houses will also be used as places for participants to stay," Nelson added .

He also said that the KTNA secretariat will be located at Pakaya Tower.

"Various transportation facilities, including four-wheeled vehicles and bentors (auto rickshaws), will be recorded and prepared for use by participants," he explained.

In addition to being an event to advance the agricultural economy, Nelson hopes that Penas KTNA 2026 will also be a promotional tool for Gorontalo's regional potential.

"We could learn about agricultural technology through the activity, which could [help] increase the income of farmers, fishermen, and livestock breeders. With 50,000 farmers and fishermen set to gather in Gorontalo Regency, the event will become a 'locomotive' for the region's progress with a positive impact on the Gorontalo tourism industry and economy," he said.
