First Sharia Digital Investment Gallery in East Nusa Tenggara inaugurated

The first Sharia Digital Investment Gallery in East Nusa Tenggara was established on Oct. 29, 2024, at the Sekolah Tinngi Agama Islam (STAI) Kupang. At the same time, the Sharia Capital Market School was also held and attended by the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Sharia Capital Market Division Headd Irwan Abdalloh and Indonesia Ulema Council (MUI) National Sharia Council (DSN) Executive Officer Board Member Kanny Hidaya.

IDX East Nusa Tenggara Representative Office Head Adevi Sabath gave appreciation from himself and his team for the creation of the Sharia Digital Investment Gallery in Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara to be an extension of the sharia capital market information for the people.

"A great commitment was also shown by STAI Kupang, which had produced more than 60 new sharia investors which before the activity took place - and that number continues to grow. This [the gallery's inauguration] is also inseparable from Phintraco Sekuritas's role as [the IDX's] cooperation partner which actively educates and communicates intensively with prospective new sharia investors in the STAI Kupang environment," she stated.

He also called for capital market investors in East Nusa Tenggara to continue to enjoy the benefits of investing in the capital market, enrich themselves with new information, and invite those closest to them to learn to manage finances and invest intelligently in the Indonesian capital market. There are 643 sharia stocks listed in the IDX as of October 25, 2024, or 68 percent of the exchange's total stocks.

In terms of transactions, the average daily transaction volume of stocks included in the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index accounted for 76.7 percent of the IDX's total transaction volume, while the average daily transaction value of sharia stocks is 58.9 percent of the IDX's total transaction value.

The average daily transaction frequency of sharia stocks is 71.7%. Meanwhile, the market capitalization (market cap) of stocks included in the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index reached 56.4 percent of the total market cap of all stocks on the IDX. The trend showed that sharia stocks are in demand by investors.

In terms of the number of investors, the number of sharia stock investors has increased by 254 percent from 44,536 investors in 2018 to 157,499 investors as of September 2024 according to the IDX's Exchange Members-Provided Sharia Online Trading System (AB-SOTS).
