The Central Kalimantan Province Culture and Tourism Office has clinched the top spot in the Indonesian Tourism Marketing Appreciation (APPI) for May 2024 at the provincial level. The achievement was announced via the official Instagram account @pesona.indonesia on June 1, 2024. The province's video garnered 10,444 views, surpassing other leading provinces such as Bangka Belitung, DKI Jakarta, East Java, and West Java.

The APPI competition, organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Indonesian Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Baparekraf) , features a creative video contest under the theme "Proud to Travel in Indonesia" (BBWI). Winners are selected based on viewership, with May's theme, “CoE/Regional Events,” showcasing various cultural events across provinces.

“We are incredibly proud of this achievement. We hope it motivates us to further promote our region's culture and tourism,” Central Kalimantan Culture and Tourism Office Adiah Chandra Sari stated.

Adiah extended her thanks to the public for their support and participation. “The public's active support and participation have been invaluable. This achievement is the result of our collective effort, and we hope it will inspire us all to continue showcasing Central Kalimantan’s rich culture and tourism,” she added.

She hopes this success will drive her team to innovate and develop more cultural events to attract public interest, both nationally and internationally.

“This recognition also aims to inspire other provinces to promote their cultural and tourism assets, boosting tourist visits and advancing Indonesia’s tourism industry as a whole,” Adiah concluded.

The ceremony saw attendance from key figures in tourism and culture, as well as representatives from other provinces. Ongoing strong community and stakeholder support is expected to bolster Central Kalimantan’s position as a premier tourist destination in Indonesia.
