The Bank Indonesia (BI) Representative Office (KpwBI) for West Nusa Tenggara Province conducted capacity-building activities at the Bilebante Green Tourism Village in Central Lombok Regency from Jun. 5 to 6, 2024. The purpose of this event was to enhance green tourism and standardize tourism residential facilities in the village.

KpwBI West Nusa Tenggara Achmad Fauzi, noted that Statistics Indonesia (BPS) West Nusa Tenggara recorded the highest growth in tourist movements in the province from January to November 2023, with 12,131.37 trips. However, this figure still lags behind the provinces on Java Island.

"The increasing growth of West Nusa Tenggara tourism aligns with the rising number of hotels, homestays, and tourism industries year by year," he said.

West Nusa Tenggara possesses great natural potential that could be developed into valuable regional tourism assets. The region is home to a series of world-famous islands spread across various areas.

Additionally, NTB boasts the world-class Mandalika Circuit sports tourism, as well as exceptional conservation areas like Mount Rinjani National Park and Mount Tambora National Park, known for their stunning natural beauty.

"There is still a lot of natural potential that needs further development as a regional tourism asset," Achmad continued.

One strategy to optimize tourism potential is to promote the corporatization of micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) actors supporting tourism, particularly in tourist villages. BI is also fostering and developing the tourism sector by creating a business model for tourism ecosystem development that includes tourist village development in West Nusa Tenggara.

"This capacity building is one of our efforts to accelerate the tourism sector and stimulate the regional economy, especially in the West Nusa Tenggara region, which has been selected as one of the world's Muslim-friendly tourism destinations," he explained.
