The Ambon City Government provides several investment incentives in the form of permitting facilities for people who invest their capital to Ambon City, as part of the local government's efforts to improve the local economy.

"The various facilities provided include from permitting that is directly integrated to the central government, to [accelerating the] permitting process to a few minutes if the required documents are completed," said Ambon City Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP) Head Christian Tukloy in Ambon City, Maluku Province on Feb. 19, 2025.

He added that the Ambon City DPMPTSP had informed about the incentives to entrepreneurs in accordance with Ambon City Regional Regulation (Perda) No. 7/2020 on the General Investment Plan.

There are several criteria stipulated about the incentives in the Perda, such as how a large regional government service fee bill could be paid in periodic installments.

"If entrepreneurs found it difficult to pay a large government service fee bill, we provide installment facilities so that the investment process could still be carried out," Tukloy explained.

In addition, the Perda stipulates the provision of permitting facilities in the form of prioritization for micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) actors which employs local workers or use local raw materials. Tukloy said MSMEs have flexibility, creativity, and resilience in facing even the most unexpected challenges.

"The MSME actors are the main drivers in creating jobs, contributing to community income, and maintaining the sustainability of the local economy," he claimed.

He added that the Ambon City Government is trying to provide comfortable services to the community by preparing a Public Service Mall.

The Public Service Mall is a facility needed as an effort to provide comfortable public services, while also simplifying the investment permit process.

All services will focus on one location, so that there is no longer any need to take care of permits in several places and have an impact on the emergence of business actors' expenses, just in one location.

"We have planned and prepared a public service mall in the Ambon Plaza area, so that the public can access permits and services in one location," he said.
