West Sulawesi focuses on three sectors for Q3 2025
WINDONESIA July 18, 2025
The West Sulawesi Provincial Government continues its efforts to boost regional economic growth, particularly in the third quarter (Q3) of 2025, by maximizing the potential of three key sectors, namely agriculture, manufacturing, as well as micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
West Sulawesi Regional Secretariat Economics and Development Administration Bureau Head Hamdani Hamdi stated that the three sectors contribute significantly to West Sulawesi's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
"We are very concerned [on said sectors] because the highest share [of the GDP] is by the agriculture sector, followed by the manufacturing sector, and then MSMEs at third place. The three sectors have accounted for nearly 70 percent of our GDP or economic growth," he stated on July 10, 2025.
Hamdani added that the agriculture sector is the primary sector currently being promoted by the West Sulawesi Provincial Government. Several priority programs have been launched by West Sulawesi Governor Suhardi Duka and Deputy Governor Maj. Gen. (ret.) Salim S. Mengga for the sector.
"Last June, we began distributing crop seeds and livestock to farmer and livestock groups. We hope they will be managed well so that economic growth can be maintained and progress smoothly," he revealed.
Furthermore, Hamdani emphasized that support for MSMEs is also a key focus in increasing the province's regional economic competitiveness. Mentoring, provision of capital, and strengthening production capacity are continuously being carried out for MSMEs so they can achieve sustained growth.
By optimizing the three leading sectors, the West Sulawesi Provincial Government hopes that the province will be able to maintain a stable economic growth rate and have a positive impact on local community welfare.
