West Kalimantan Achieved US$159.71 Million BoT Surplus in September
November 6, 2024Statistics Indonesia (BPS) West Kalimantan Province recorded West Kalimantan achieving a US$159.71 million balance of trade (BoT) surplus in September 2024.
"The BoT surplus is based on an export value of US$222.93 million and US$63.22 of import value," BPS West Kalimantan Head Muh. Saichudin divulged.
He added that most of West Kalimantan's export value was supported by three main types of commodities, namely inorganic chemicals (HS28), animal/vegetable fats & oils (HS15), as well as rubber and rubber products (HS40) that each contributed 55.31 percent, 26.59 percent, and 6.35 percent, respectively.
"The three largest export destinations for West Kalimantan in September 2024 are China, Malaysia, and the Netherlands with export values of US$39.09 million, US$35.85 million, and US$28.38 million, respectively. Their total contribution to [the province's total export value] is US$103.32 million or 46.34 percent," Saichudin revealed.
West Kalimantan's imports are also dominated by three main types of commodities, which are machinery/mechanical equipment (HS84), mineral fuels (HS27), and inorganic chemicals (HS28). The three groups of goods contributed 55.39 percent, 14.28 percent, and 7.05 percent, respectively to the province's total imports. Their combined share of contribution to West Kalimantan's total imports reached 76.72 percent.
"Malaysia, China, and Singapore are the three largest sources of West Kalimantan imports in September 2024, with a total contribution of US$56.00 million US dollars or 88.58 percent to West Kalimantan's total imports," he also said.
