Jambi City Tourism and Culture Office Head Mariani Yanti revealed that there were 800,000 tourists who visited Jambi City, Jambi Province throughout 2023. That figure is an increase of 30 percent year-on-year (yoy).

"We are optimistic that the number of tourists will increase this year compared to last year," Mariani said on May 14, 2024.

She stated that the number of tourists entering Jambi is based on the occupancy rate of hotels throughout the year.

Currently, the city of Jambi has several natural and manmade tourist destinations. Examples of its natural attractions are Lake Sipin and the Batanghari River. Meanwhile, the city's manmade destinations include the Jomblo Park, Teen Park, Muhammad Sabki Urban Forest Park, Kampung Rajo, Gentala Arasi, and the Orchid Park.

The Jambi City Government is also developing community-based tourist destinations with its village tourism concept. Kampung Madu CLB and Kampung Anggur are two destinations that the Jambi City Government will develop under said concept.

Mariani admitted that it is undeniable how the city of Jambi does not have many tourist attractions. Therefore, its government must be more creative in increasing tourist interest. One of the way to do so is by creating connectivity between tourist attractions.

Mariani gave an example in the creation tour packages to several places in one day, such as a package to the Urban Forest Park, Orchid Garden, and Kampung Madu.
