North Kalimantan Province Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP) Investment Management Junior Expert Rahman stated that Singaporean investors have emerged as potential players in North Kalimantan's development scene.

The target location for this potential investment is the Tanah Kuning and Mangkupadi Village areas in East Tanjung Palas District, Bulungan Regency, North Kalimantan. The plan, if realized, would see a hotel built to capitalize on the area's existing beach tourism potential.

This plan is influenced by the potential for beach tourism that has long existed in the area. Moreover, the construction of the Indonesian Green Industrial Zone (KIHI) national strategic project in the area also provides good opportunities for hotel investment.

"The hotel development plan is still in the early stages of exploration and location surveys. There are several options being considered, as investors naturally want the best prospects." Rahman said

The hope is to leverage the area's beautiful beach and transform it into a leading tourist destination for Indonesia. Rahman highlighted Tanah Kuning and Mangkupadi as ideal locations for a coastal hotel.

"We will certainly be very supportive. This includes ensuring all aspects are in place, from access to regional security." He added.

Rahman further explained that the potential investment arose from ongoing communication efforts by North Kalimantan Governor Zainal A. Paliwang. The Governor's participation in events like those held recently in Bali played a role in attracting investor interest.

While the official investment value remains undisclosed, initial estimates suggest it could reach US$500 million, a significant boost for North Kalimantan's economy.

The North Kalimantan Provincial Government has pledged its full support for the project, including facilitating permits, security, and other requirements.

"We will encourage the acceleration of the process while reminding everyone to adhere to all applicable laws and regulations," Rahman concluded.
