Sandiaga Uno, Olly Dondokambey Open Discover North Sulawesi 2024

Tourism and Creative Economy Minister/Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Baparekraf) Head Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno officially opened the Discover North Sulawesi 2024 Exhibition at the Borobudur Hotel in Jakarta on Sep. 6, 2024. The exhibition is part of a series of celebration for the 60th Anniversary of North Sulawesi Province, which will last from Sep. 23 to 30, 2024.
The opening ceremony was attended by several important people, including North Sulawesi Governor Olly Dondokambey and Deputy Governor Steven Kandouw (nicknamed ODSK), North Sulawesi Family Welfare Movement (PKK) Organizing Team Chairwoman Rita Dondokambey-Tamuntuan, Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun, Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže, as well as various regional officials, investors, airlines, and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
In his speech, Sandiaga Uno praised the North Sulawesi Regional Government under ODSK leadership for successfully holding Discover North Sulawesi 2024 in Jakarta.
"I am proud of and praise this activity as a historical event where Manado was chosen as the location for the final night of Miss Universe Asia 2024," he said.
Sandiaga said Discover North Sulawesi 2024 is an extraordinary example of how local governments can work together to promote tourism. He was also pleased to see great support from various parties in making the event a success.
"If all governors, regents, and mayors are united like ODSK, it will be very easy for us to promote tourism throughout all regions," he added.
Sandiaga emphasized the importance of determining Manado as the location for the Miss Asia 2024 final, which is a great honor.
"Let's make it a success and push North Sulawesi to become a world-class leading tourist destination," he announced.
Meanwhile, North Sulawesi Governor Olly Dondokambey, expressed his gratitude to God in his speech because the opening ceremony could take place with no trouble. He added that Discover North Sulawesi 2024 is an important event to showcase the cultural wealth and tourism potential of North Sulawesi Province to the wider society, including investors and tourists.
"We are grateful that Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno fully supports this activity. This is extraordinary," he said.
Olly also said that North Sulawesi will host more international activities, such as Wakefest 2024 that will be held at Manado Beach on Oct. 20, 2024.
Additionally, the governor gave his appreciation for the participation of Miss China 2024 as well as 140 business actors and MSMEs who took part in the Discover North Sulawesi 2024 Exhibition, which also presents leading products from the 15 cities and regencies of North Sulawesi on top of their cultural potential.
