Ponorogo targets Rp200 billion investment for 2025
WINDONESIA February 13, 2025
The Ponorogo Regency Government is targeting investment to Ponorogo Regency to reach Rp200 billion in 2025, which is lower than the Rp360 billion of realized investments the regency attained in 2024.
Ponorogo Regency Acting Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP) Head Etik Mudarifah stated on Jan. 26, 2025, that the target was a realistic figure, and she was confident that it would be easy to achieve considering the upward investment trend of the regency.
"We are optimistic that [the target] will be achieved, because we observed the current conditions in Ponorogo that has attracted many investors. Last year, investment inflows [soared] 184 percent compared to Rp195 billion in 2023," said Etik.
She added that more and more investors are starting to invest into Ponorogo Regency based on its capital inflow and business growth data for 2024. Etik said that the amount is divided into two categories, namely micro and small enterprises (MSEs), which contributed Rp59 billion of investments, and non-MSEs that contributed Rp301 billion.
"Non-MSE investors indeed contributed the most, as the [larger] business sector has a large value and capital," she noted.
The Ponorogo Regency DPMPTSP also detailed that the largest non-MSE investments came from the chemical and pharmaceutical sector, which amounted to Rp76 billion and is related to fertilizer production in demand for agriculture. Meanwhile, the largest MSE investment came from trade and repair sector, amounting to IDR 27 billion.
"[That is] because MSE is mostly small commercial [business] under Rp5 billion, such as cafes or local products," Etik explained.
The Ponorogo Regency DPMPTSP elaborated that the increase in investment was inseparable from the development and progress in both tourist and urban areas of Ponorogo Regency to assuage investor hesitance.
"Indeed, we can see that currently many big brands are entering Ponorogo. We also play an active role in communicating with investors," she concluded.
