Commodity exports from North Sulawesi Province experienced a very good performance on a monthly basis, with the export value of commodities from North Sulawesi surging by 49.78 percent to US$89.01 million from September to October 2024.

Statistics Indonesia (BPS) North Sulawesi Head Aidil Adha explained that export commodities from the province in October 2024 were still dominated by animal and vegetable fats and oils (HS 15), with an export value of US$57.83 million.

"Overall, HS 15 exports contributed up to 64.98 percent of total exports during October 2024," he revealed.

Furthermore, Aidil said that the foremost export destination country in October 2024 was the Netherlands with export value to the country reaching US$26.78 million US dollars, which contributed to 30.09 percent of total exports as of October 2024.

"The increase in export value was caused by the increase in exports of animal and vegetable oil fat commodities (HS 15) to the Netherlands," he clarified.
