Kenduri Riau 2024 to Enliven Pekanbaru City Soon

Kenduri Riau 2024 will soon enliven Pekanbaru City for three days, from Oct. 18 to 20, 2024, at the Raja Ali Haji Pekanbaru Art Town (Bandar Serai).
The site, which is also known as Pekanbaru's Former MTQ Complex, was chosen as the location for Kenduri Riau because it is one of the icons of Pekanbaru City and provides an atmosphere that is filled with Malay cultural influence.
Several interesting activities have been prepared to enliven the event, ranging from traditional and modern artistic performances, competitions, as well as the selection of Bujang and Dara Riau provincial cultural representatives.
The opening ceremony of Kenduri Riau 2024 will have performances by many well-known art communities in Riau, such as Tengkah Zapin Art Studio and Urban Rhythm Pekanbaru. The event will also feature national musicians such as D'One Band and Padi Reborn.
As quoted from the Riau Province Media Center, Riau Province Tourism Office Head Roni Rakhmat stated that Kenduri Riau 2024 is expected to have a positive impact on various sectors, especially tourism and the creative economy.
"With the increasing number of tourist visits, it will have an impact on increasing the community's income. In addition, the event is [held] to introduce Riau's tourism potential to the wider public," he said on Oct. 11, 2024.
Kenduri Riau 2024 is not only a place to promote tourism, but also a catalyst for the growth of the creative economy in Riau.
"This event is a forum for local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), artists, and designers to showcase their best works. From batik and woven fabrics typical of Riau to handicraft products made from natural materials, all are available at various attractive stands. This [event] not only increases community income, but also strengthens Riau's image as a tourist destination rich in culture and creativity," he concluded.
