Jayawijaya Ready to Hold FBLB 2024

The Jayawijaya Regency Culture and Tourism Office is ready to hold the Baliem Valley Cultural Festival (FBLB) this year. The event will be held on Aug. 7-9, 2024, in Usilimo District, Jayawijaya Regency, Highland Papua Province.

Jayawijaya Culture and Tourism Office Head Engelbert Surabut said that a carnival will also be held in the city of Wamena District, Jayawijaya Regency on Aug. 10. The carnival will involve communities from all Jayawijaya districts, including both children and adults wearing their respective traditional clothes.

Engelbert explained that the preparation stages for the 2024 FBLB has essentially finished with only the confirmation of the festival's location in Wosi Village, Usilimo District, Jayawijaya Regency left.

"Hence, promotions will be carried out by this week and the next week so that everyone from Sabang to Merauke, and even those from abroad, will know about it," he explained in Wamena on July 11, 2024.

Engelbert added that the FBLB 2024 organizing committee was formed on July 11, 2024. Afterwards, all event organizing activities from the festival's preparation to its peak day will be carried out.

"The facilities at the festival location are still good, only cleaning the water facilities is needed," he divulged.

The budget for FBLB 2024 is Rp5 billion entirely allocated from Jayawijaya's 2024 regional budget.

"There are several Ministers and ambassadors who will attend based on initial information available to us," he concluded.
