Investments to South Kalimantan reached Rp18.13 trillion as of Q3 2024

South Kalimantan Province Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP) Head Endri revealed on Nov. 4, 2024, that realized investments to South Kalimantan reached Rp18.13 trillion as of the third quarter (Q3) of 2024. He added that most of that figure came from domestic investments, which contributed more than Rp12 trillion.

"There are a total of 8,255 domestic investment projects," Endri stated.

He also divulged that foreign investments contributed Rp5.9 trillion from 884 projects. Endri said that the data is in line with both the Investment and Downstreaming Ministry/Investment Coordinating Board (BKMP)'s foreign and domestic investment presentation and the Investment and Downstreaming Ministry/BKPM Office of the Investment Implementation Supervision Deputy's list of South Kalimantan's investment activity reports (LKPM).

"The highest-value investments were in Kotabaru Regency, Tanah Bumbu Regency and Banjarmasin City," Endry noted.

He detailed that investments to Kotabaru Regency, Tanah Bumbu Regency, and Banjarmasin City reached Rp4.6 trillion, Rp3.7 trillion, and Rp3.1 trillion, respectively. Meanwhile, the mining sector contributed the most among the province's economic sectors with Rp10 trillion, followed by the transportation, warehouse, and telecommunications sector with around Rp2.4 trillion, then the food crops, plantations, and livestock sector with Rp1.2 trillion.

"For foreign investment, the highest came from Hong Kong, then Singapore and England," Endri said.
