Annual realized investment in Banten Province reached Rp83.44 trillion from the first (Q1) to third quarter (Q3) of 2024.

"Our investment target for 2024 is Rp97 trillion. If last year we were able to reach Rp103 trillion, Hopefully we can exceed Rp100 trillion after reaching Rp103 trillion last year," Banten Province Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Office (DPMPTSP) Head Virgojanti stated after a coordination meeting on investment realization in Q3 2024 at the Banten DPMPTSP Office in Serang City, Banten on Oct. 24, 2024.

She added that Rp25.19 trillion of investments was realized in the third quarter (Q3) of 2024 alone, consisting of Rp12.45 trillion in domestic investments and around Rp12.74 of foreign investments.

Virgojanti explained that said investment resulted in the employment of 29,998 people in Q3 2024, consisting of 29,744 Indonesian workers and about 254 foreign workers.

"20,001 projects have been successfully implemented until Q3 2004," she revealed.

Thus, she said the accumulation of realized investments from Q1 to Q3 2024 has reached 85 percent of the 2024 target.

The total jobs created from Q1 to Q3 2024 from investments during that period reached 115,337 jobs, employing 114,000 domestic workers and 815 people foreign workers.

"Nationally, Banten is in the top five, below Jakarta, West Java, East Java and Central Sulawesi," Virgojanti emphasized.

She is optimistic that with the hard work of all parties, Banten's realized investments will surpass the Rp97 trillion target by the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2024.

"We remain optimistic that investment [realization] in Banten will remain good [in 2025]. We are still waiting for direction from the central government regarding our target for next year," Virgojanti concluded.
