HKI-ACST-NK operational cooperation accelerates Probolinggo-Banyuwangi Toll Road Package II

The operational cooperation of construction state-owned enterprises (SOEs) PT Hutama Karya Infrastruktur (HKI) and PT Nindya Karya (NK) as well as Astra Group subsidiary PT Acset Indonusa Tbk (ACST) continues to accelerate the construction of the Probolinggo-Banyuwangi Toll Road's 11.2 km Package II STA 09 + 000 - 20 + 200. The progress for the project's completion is at 81.91 percent as of January 2025.
PT HKI Operations Director III Aditya Novendra Jaya said that the toll road connecting the Kraksaan and Paiton districts of Probolinggo Regency will later be joined to the 12.88 km Gending-Kraksaan toll road, which has been operating since the 2024 Christmas and New Year holidays.
To accelerate construction, the HKI-ACST-NK operational cooperation applies the deep cement mixing (DCM) method, which is a soil improvement technique used to increase the stability and strength of the base soil in construction projects by drilling the soil and filling it with cement.
"The use of the DCM method for the Probolinggo-Banyuwangi Toll Road Project Package II is one of the first to be apllied for toll road construction. The method is usually used by contractors in constructing [various] buildings and skycrapers," said Aditya in a press release on Feb. 7, 2025.
HKI also implements building information modeling (BIM) for the construction of the Probolinggo-Banyuwangi Toll Road Package II, which is supported by the use of light detection and ranging (LiDAR) to produce topographic mapping and 3D modeling of the environment to be built. BIM's usage increases the effectiveness of the construction process due to mature and detailed construction planning to reduce rework and waste.
The Probolinggo-Banyuwangi Toll Road Package II is expected accelerate the delivery of logistics to or from East Java and improve economic conditions around the toll road once it began operating.
"We ask for prayers and support from the people so that the construction of the Probolinggo-Banyuwangi Toll Road Package II, Kraksaan-Paiton, can be completed soon and have a positive impact on the people of East Java and its surroundings," concluded Aditya.
Meanwhile, HKI had also built the around 435.92 km Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS). In addition, HKI is working on the 11.3 km Jakarta–South Cikampek II Toll Road Package IIA ().
Other toll roads that are still under construction are the 30.57 km Pekanbaru Ring Toll Road, the 30.8 km Betung-Jambi Section 1A, the 31.6 km Betung-Jambi Section 1B, the 35.92 km Betung-Jambi Section 2A, the 18.40 km Betung-Jambi Section 2B, the 18.5 km Betung-Jambi Section IV, the 14.6 km Palembang-Betung Section III, and the 10.12 km Palembang-Betung Structure.
