BI: FESyar Java 2024 Recorded Rp23.59 Billion of Transaction Commitments
November 8, 2024Bank Indonesia (BI) stated that Indonesian Sharia Economic Festival (FESyar) 2024 for Java Island in Surabaya City, East Java Province, recorded a high transaction commitment through business agreement activities or business matching at Rp23.59 billion.
BI East Java Province Representative Office Head Erwin G. Hutapea detailed on Sep. 17, 2024, that said transaction commitment included Rp7.41 billion in financing business matching and Rp16.18 billion in sales business matching. The transaction commitment was achieved from 92 offline and online business matching sessions during Fesyar Java 2024 from Sep. 13 to 15, 2024.
This business matching in the festival involved 27 financing institutions, encompassing 11 sharia banks and 15 zakat, infaq, sadaqah, and waqf (ZISWAF) institutions, three e-commerce platforms, and 20 potential buyers from both in and beyond Indonesia.
In addition, FESyar Java 2024 also recorded Rp4.7 billion of total micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) products sale involving 140 MSMEs online and 153 MSMEs offline. The sales were generated from 90,461 visitors coming to the festival.
FESyar Java 2024 itself is the last in the series of activities of the 11th Road to Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF), which was held from Oct. 30 to Nov. 3, 2024 in Jakarta.
"We hope that the implementation of FESyar Java will continue to accelerate the development of sharia economics and finance at the regional level so that it could become one of the sources of national economic growth," Erwin stated.
