15,840 people crossed borders in East Nusa Tenggara for Christmas

The Atambua Class II Immigration Checkpoint (TPI) Immigration Office stated that 15,840 people crossed three border crossing posts (PLBN) in East Nusa Tenggara Province from Dec. 20 to Dec. 27, 2024.

Atambua Class II TPI Immigration Office Head Indra Maulana Dimyati stated on Dec. 28, 2024, that the three PLBNs crossed were the Motamasin PLBN in Malaka Regency, the Mota Ain PLBN in Belu Regency, and the Wini PLBN in North Central Timor Regency.

"The crossing conditions were monitored to be smooth during the Christmas and New Year homecoming flow, and all crossers have been well served," he said.

Indra detailed that, of the total 15,840 border crossers, the number of crossers who entered Indonesia through the PLBNs reached 8,681 people while those who departed to Timor Leste reached 7,159 people. He previously divulged on Dec. 27, 2024, that inspection services at the three PLBNs operated from 08.00 to 16.00 Central Indonesian Time (WITA).

Indra added that, a total of 2,541 people passed through the PLBNs on that day, with 1,126 peope departing Indonesia and 1,415 peope entering the country.

"The Mota Ain PLBN recorded the highest number of crossing [of the three PLBNs], with the number of people entering Timor Leste reaching 812 people and 1,152 people entered Indonesia," he revealed.

Indra also said that strict supervision continues to be carried out to maintain the smoothness and security of the crossing amidst the increasing flow of border crossers.

"The excellent service from our officers is the key to the smooth flow of this crossing," he said.

Atambua Immigration Office, said Indra, continues to be committed to maintaining smooth crossings, ensuring that people in border areas can celebrate the end of year holidays safely, comfortably, and with satisfaction.
